Beech Forest of Tejera Negra
Preserved in an exceptional microclimate and integrated into the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park, we find one of the southernmost beech forests in Europe. The Lillas and Zarzas rivers, which originate at the foot of La Buitrera peak, feed it. The forest grows in two valleys flanked by high, sharp rocky ridges.
Black Architecture Route
It is a route that passes through a group of small and austere villages that share the same peculiar and rustic architectural image. The main characteristic of this architecture is the black slate surfaces that are used to cover roofs, on the ground you walk on, on the walls of houses, in fountains, in churches… and which are extracted from the land of the area.
Tourism of Guadalajara
Waterfalls, bucolic forests, chimneys, villages and the smell of firewood are some of the ingredients of the Route through the Villages of Black Architecture of Guadalajara. Campillo de Ranas or Majaelrayo are two of the stops on a walk you will never forget.
